Florida's KCPA prohibits the sale of kratom to people under 21.

  • Florida becomes the latest state to adopt a version of the Kratom Consumer Protectoin Act, the state’s first regulation of kratom.
  • The new law makes selling kratom to underage buyers a misdemeanor. Buyers will be required to present identification proving their age before purchasing kratom, just as they do before buying alcohol, as noted by the Polk County Sheriff’s Department in late June.
  • Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the Kratom Consumer Protections Act, and a number of other bills, while on the presidential campaign trail in early June, as reported by WTSB-TV Tampa Bay 10.
  • Kratom is legal in 44 states, most of which regulate the product in some way, such as age restrictions.
